Anthony: (staring out the car window) Wow… that’s it. Los Angeles. It’s actually real.
Amber: Real and way louder than I imagined. Why is everyone honking like it’s a competition?
Anthony: I think that is the competition. Welcome to LA.
Amber: 😳 Okay but—pause. Did we really just leave everything behind for this?
Anthony: You mean the tiny town, the same routines, and people who knew our business before we did?
Amber: When you say it like that… it sounds kind of brave. Or kind of reckless.
Anthony: Probably both. My favorite combination.
Amber: (laughs, then gets serious) Still, this place is huge. What if we get lost? Or worse—what if we disappear into it?
Anthony: I don’t think LA lets anyone disappear. It puts you on display instead.
Amber: That’s not comforting.
Anthony: Hey, look—palm trees. 🌴 That means we’re officially in a movie now, right?
Amber: If this is a movie, I hope it’s not one of those where everything goes wrong in the first ten minutes.
Anthony: Those are the interesting ones though.
Amber: You always say that. That’s how we ended up here.
Anthony: True. But think about it. New chances. New people. New stories.
Amber: New problems.
Anthony: Definitely new problems.
Amber: (sighs) Okay… first question: where are we even staying tonight?
Anthony: About that…
Amber: Anthony.
Anthony: It’s not bad! It’s just… smaller than the pictures.
Amber: That’s what people say right before something is very bad.
Anthony: Hey, it has walls. And a door. And I’m pretty sure that’s a window.
Amber: “Pretty sure” is not reassuring.
Anthony: Look, I know this is scary. It is for me too.
Amber: Really? Because you’re acting like this is all a big adventure.
Anthony: Adventures are scary. That’s the whole point.
Amber: (quiet for a moment) I didn’t tell you this earlier, but… I almost didn’t come.
Anthony: What? Why?
Amber: Because what if we fail? What if we realize we’re not meant for this place?
Anthony: Then we learn something. And we choose what’s next.
Amber: You make it sound so simple.
Anthony: It’s not simple. Just possible.
Amber: (looks out at the city again) LA feels like it’s watching us.
Anthony: Let it watch. We didn’t come all this way to hide.
Amber: You know what? You’re right.
Anthony: 😏 I usually am.
Amber: Don’t push it.
Anthony: So… first stop? Food? Because I am starving.
Amber: Yes. If we’re going to face LA, we need tacos.
Anthony: Obviously. That’s basically the law here.
Amber: (smiles, nervous but excited) Okay. LA… we’re here.
Anthony: Shocking arrival, right?
